Inspectors want to see that you find problems and put them right. The Improvement plan keeps every action in one place, whatever it came from: audits, incidents, complaints, feedback, staff meetings, inspections, commissioner visits or your AI readiness review.
- Go to Improvement plan and click + Add action.
- Say what will be done and what you found, where it came from, the key area (for example Safe or Well-led), the priority, who owns it and when it's due.
- Tick Also add it to Tasks if you want the owner to see it in their task list too.
- Add progress updates as you go, and attach documents such as training records, a revised policy or a follow-up audit.
- When it's finished, set the status to Completed and record the evidence: what changed and how you know it worked.
Adding actions from elsewhere
- On an incident or a complaint, click + Add to improvement plan. Where it came from, the details and the key area are filled in for you.
- On your AI readiness review, click + Plan next to a priority, or + Add to improvement plan to add every action at once. You can set owners and dates afterwards.
Keeping on top of it
- The page shows open, overdue and due-soon actions, and how many actions are open in each key area.
- Overdue actions show on the menu and in the weekly email, and appear in calendar feeds.
- 🖨 Print plan or ⬇ Download (CSV) gives you a copy for inspectors, commissioners or your board. The inspection evidence pack also includes a summary.
- You can ask Ask your system questions like "Which improvement actions are overdue?"
An inspector you give access to everyone can read the plan and its documents. People given access to chosen people only can't, because the plan covers the whole service. Completed actions are deleted automatically with your other records if automatic deletion is on.
